New York | Spice Market

Possibly some of the best ‘asian fusion’ food we have ever had at Jean George’s ‘too cool for school’ restaurant, Spice Market, in the Meat Packing District of New York City. Never mind the over abundance of ‘agency types’ and ‘investment bankers’, the atmosphere is bustling eastern exotic warehouse with lots of Indian and south east asian bits and pieces everywhere. For example, some bits and pieces were whole pagodas from Rajastan! For starters, we went for the chicken samosas and shaved tuna, both of which were excellent and then followed up with Red Curry Duck and some lobster concotion for main. The duck was also fantastic but the lobster was a bit ordinary. Tough to get a reservation and pretty pricey but quite a spectacle which is definitly worth a look!
