Socks? No way! It’s all about footwear…haute coutre! Tabio has a fantastic range of legwarmers, socks, tights most of which are sourced from Japan. There is the standard sock, then the £24 angora bedsocks, the socks with individual toes and there’s legwarmers..including combat print and delicate ribbon varieties!

The patterned tights are great. You can go fishnet style or go for the back-seam look so brilliantly carried off by Maggie Gyllenhaal in the film Secretary.

As they’re imports, they are dead expensive. I paid £8 for my tan fishnets and am extremely careful of snagging them.

There are 2 stores; one in Covent Garden on Neal street and one on the Kings Road. Good news for those of you who can’t make it to London though. You can buy these fab socks, legawarmers and tights online!
