Ahhh…Sarf London! The Kitchen & Bar is our local haunt around the corner from our place and is number one for lazy weekend breakfasts! Full English in every way…including black pudding! It’s got an open kitchen so you can get a great view of the complete chaos that goes on there, even if you’re not facing it. They have thoughtfully installed a mirror for people with the back to the kitchen. There is the main restaurant, the bar, a ‘playroom’ downstairs with big squashy lounges and ‘The Snug’ where people chuck their kids to be entertained by Shrek on the giant plasma screen. For Balham, it’s actually pretty stylish. They’re not perfect, when it goes wrong in the kitchen its quite spectacular but hey, they’re always happy to fix it!
