The High Atlas mountains in Morocco are rugged and beautiful. They are home to the highest mountain in North Africa, Jebel Toubkal which has the most amazing hotel sitting at its feet. The Kasbah du Toubkal is a restored Berber fortress.

We stayed in the Garden Apartment which had its own kitchen and lounge area, complete with wood burning stove. The Kasbah offers guided walks through the High Atlas with terrific guides. Our guide who took us up to the snowline told us that during the summer, he would summit Jebel Toubkal at least 4 times a week!
